2009 Lincoln Navigator more fuel efficient
by Auto123.com
Lincoln has really updated its full-size SUV. The amount of optional equipment has been reduced, those features now included in the standard package. A few minor changes have earned the Navigator higher marks with the EPA.

Standard equipment now includes cooled and heated front seats and heated second-row seats, while the third row can still be retracted at the touch of a button. A reverse camera has also been integrated into the tailgate handle for easier parking and towing.

Microsoft's SYNC system has also made an appearance, as well as a THX-II-certified, 14-speaker sound system, SIRIUS satellite radio and SIRUS Travel-link, which gives real-time traffic feedback.

Fuel efficiency has been improved compared to earlier models. The 5.4-litre, 300-hp, Triton V8 has stayed on for 2009, but the engine now runs at a lower speed when not called upon. The transmission now features 6 speeds, spaced closer together than the 4-speed version it replaces.
